Norwegian Fjords cruise tour itineraryNorway’s deep-blue fjords, towering mountains, gleaming glaciers and thundering waterfalls inspire! Bluegreen owners and their guests will explore the scenic wonders and ancient history of this Scandinavian country. The adventure starts in London with a three-night stay and Welcome Cocktail Reception at your hotel overlooking the famous London Eye. London sightseeing includes views of major landmarks like Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, plus stops at Westminster Abbey, where Prince William and Kate Middleton were married, and St. Paul’s Cathedral, where Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer wed. Tour the Tower of London and Windsor Castle, and indulge in the very British tradition of afternoon tea at Harrods. Then head to Southampton, England, where you’ll embark on one of the first sailings of the stylish and innovative Celebrity ApexSM cruise ship, the second ship in Celebrity Cruises’ highly anticipated Edge® series. Witness Geiranger’s pristine majesty as your motorcoach makes its winding way up and down Mount Dalsnibba. Admire the art nouveau architecture of Alesund, a charming town less than 300 miles south of the Arctic Circle. At Stavanger, visit the Swords in Stone monument and a well-preserved Iron Age Farm before taking a boat ride on Lysefjord, one of Norway’s most stunning waterways. London EyeThursday, April 30, 2020 — London, England
Your adventure begins today with transfers from London Heathrow Airport to your hotel in England’s capital city. You’ll stay at Park Plaza County Hall London, a hotel located just south of Westminster Bridge overlooking the River Thames and within walking distance of London’s most famous attractions, including the London Eye, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament, London Aquarium, National Theatre and the South Bank Centre. You’ll have complimentary WiFi, and there is an Italian restaurant and a bar and cafe onsite. Spend the afternoon relaxing at your hotel or exploring independently, and then meet your Bluegreen hosts and fellow adventurers at a Welcome Cocktail Reception tonight, where you will enjoy drinks and canapes. Overnight in London.

Friday, May 1, 2020 — London, England
Telephone booth by Big BenAfter an English breakfast at your hotel, take a full-day panoramic tour of London past some of the city’s most famous landmarks. Admire the buildings along the Thames Embankment and see Big Ben and the Gothic Houses of Parliament at Parliament Square. Stop at glorious Westminster Abbey, the celebrated venue of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding. Continue to Covent Garden in the West End, London’s main theater and entertainment area. Enjoy free time for lunch on your own or shopping. Drive along The Mall, London’s ceremonial avenue, which leads you past St. James’s Park to spectacular Buckingham Palace. Travel through Knightsbridge, London’s prestigious shopping district, and see The Victoria & Albert Museum, the world’s largest museum of decorative arts and design. Next partake in a thoroughly English institution, Afternoon Tea at Harrods served in the department store’s spectacular Tea Rooms. Choose your tea from Harrods own tea gardens and blends and sample finely cut sandwiches, freshly baked scones, jam and clotted cream and a range of delicate pastries from the famous Harrods Patisserie. Saturday, May 2, 2020 — London, England
St. Paul CathedralToday’s full-day Iconic City of London excursion visits two of the most renowned buildings in London. Arrive first at St. Paul’s Cathedral for an inside view of Sir Christopher Wren’s splendid masterpiece. St. Paul’s was built after the old Gothic cathedral was destroyed in the Great Fire of 1666. The magnificent building with baroque interior has been the venue for countless religious and historic events, including the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer. Take a break at Borough Market, Britain’s popular food market, for lunch on your own and shopping. Next drive to the Tower of London, where your Blue Badge Guide will show you the famous Beefeaters, the Yeoman Warders who live in the Tower of London and protect it 24 hours a day. Visit the White Tower, in whose dungeons terror once reigned, and see Traitors’ Gate, named for the number of prisoners accused of treason rumored to have passed through it. Admire the Crown Jewels, the priceless symbols of the British monarchy, before returning to your hotel. Breakfast is included today; overnight in London.

Tuesday, May 5, 2020 — Bergen, Norway
Colorful houses in BergenArrive in Norway’s second-largest city and one of its most beautiful around noon. Founded in 1070 A.D., Bergen became the first capital of Norway in the 13th century. Your exclusive Best of Bergen excursion provides a fitting introduction to the city. Start with a drive through the residential areas south of Bergen towards Fana and the Stave Church, originally built in 1150 and moved to Fantoft in 1883 to preserve it as part of the nation’s heritage. Visit Troldhaugen, home of Norway’s famed composer Edvard Grieg, who composed many of his best-known works in the composers’ hut by the shore of Lake Nordås. Take a guided tour of the Villa, museum and garden. Your visit ends with a private recital in Troldsalen. One of the best interpreters of Grieg’s music will play some of his famous pieces and relate stories and anecdotes about the composer and his wife. Returning to the city, a funicular railway will take you to the top of Mount Fløien, Bergen’s most famous mountain. PLEASE NOTE: This excursion involves moderate walking with some steps, uneven ground, cobblestones and gradual slopes. There is a 15-minute (approximately 0.4 mile) flat walk over gravel pathways from the coach to Troldhaugen.

Wednesday, May 6, 2020 — Alesund, Norway
Architecture in AlesundSeven islands comprise picturesque Alesund, cleverly connected by an elaborate set of underwater tunnels. Located just 283 miles south of the Arctic Circle, the town’s gorgeous art nouveau architecture was rebuilt after a tragic fire in 1904. Choose your adventure today as you explore Alesund on your own. You can see replicas of ancient Viking vessels and trading ships at the open-air Sunnmøre Museum, or snap a picture of the red-and-white Alnes Lighthouse. Atlantic Sea Park is one of the largest saltwater aquariums in Europe and has a small population of harbor seals. Optional excursions offered by the cruise line include a fishing trip, sea kayaking, a gondola ride to the top of Strandafjell Mountain or a drive around the hairpin turns of the Path of the Trolls. Thursday, May 7, 2020 — Geiranger, Norway
Preikestolen, or Pulpit RockGeirangerfjord is the jewel in the crown of the Norwegian fjords and a designated UNESCO World Heritage site. It is a fairy-tale landscape with majestic, snow-covered mountain tops, wild and beautiful waterfalls, lush green vegetation and deep, blue waters. Today’s full-day Geiranger’s Pristine Majesty excursion provides breathtaking scenic views. Ascend to the heights of Geirangerfjord, taking 11 hairpin turns on the mountain road to Eagle’s Bend viewpoint. Drive past Geiranger village and continue up several more turns to Flydal Valley and the high mountain plateau at Djupvatn Lake, where you’ll have a sumptuous brunch at a mountain hotel. Upon reaching the summit of Mount Dalsnibba, 5,000 feet above sea level, you’ll have a spectacular view of Geiranger, the fjord and the mountains. Friday, May 8, 2020 — Stavanger, Norway
Stavanger cityscapeStavanger is both a university city and Europe’s oil and energy capital. Surrounded by beautiful fjords, mountains and white beaches, Stavanger also boasts an impressive assortment of museums and cultural events, and Old Stavanger is home to Europe’s best-preserved wooden house settlement. Your included History & Highlights excursion begins in a historically significant location where many brutal battles took place. Admire the Swords in Stone monument, which honors a great Viking chieftain who was of major importance to Norway. Immerse yourself in the region’s fascinating past at a well-preserved Iron Age farm, Jernaldergården. This faithful recreation of a farming community shows how ancient Norwegians eked out a living in a sometimes-harsh climate. You will be treated to a traditional lunch in a stone longhouse at the farm. Next take a sightseeing boat cruise on Norway’s “Fjord of the Light,” Lysefjord. The name comes from the lightly colored granite rock that rises sharply from the water. Enter Lysefjorden with its steep sheer cliffs on both sides and many towering waterfalls. If weather permits, you’ll cruise by Preikestolen, or Pulpit Rock, which rises over 600 meters above the fjord. Return to the pier before your ship departs this evening.
