Christmas decorations by Radio City Music HallFrom Rockefeller Center to Greenwich Village, America’s most exciting city shines even brighter when it’s dressed up for the holidays. This short Owner Adventure has all the ingredients to kick off next year’s holiday season in a big way over Thanksgiving week. Experience the pageantry of the 94th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, one of the world’s largest parades and a tradition since 1924. Seeing this extravaganza on TV just doesn’t compare to seeing it live as it wends its way from Central Park West to Macy’s Herald Square. The parade’s signature character balloons are so large they require up to 90 handlers each! Enjoy a buffet breakfast, open bar and warm, indoor seating on the parade route at our Parade Viewing Party, or head outside for street-level viewing if you’re hardy. This adventure includes another Big Apple holiday treat, the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall starring the high-kicking Radio City Rockettes. The show features more than 140 performers, flawless choreography, precision moves, elaborate costumes and upbeat holiday music. But that’s not all! Ride a ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island and take time to remember at the 9/11 Museum and Memorial on your included sightseeing tour, plus see the Empire State Building, Wall Street and Central Park. And no visit to New York City would be complete without attending a hit Broadway show.1 You’ll also have free time for holiday shopping or perhaps ice skating at Rockefeller Center. This New York City getaway is sure to send you home with a large dose of the holiday spirit.

Stature of LibertyAnother exciting day in the Big Apple begins with a short walk for breakfast at Ellen’s Stardust Diner, a 1950s-themed restaurant featuring a singing wait staff and some of the best diner food in the country. Located in Times Square, Ellen’s has been serving tourists and locals since 1987. After breakfast, board a ferry for a cruise of New York Harbor. Take in the incredible views of the towering Statue of Liberty as the boat docks. Lady Liberty has welcomed immigrants and visitors to New York Harbor since 1886. Created as a token of friendship to our country from France, the Statue of Liberty has become a global symbol of freedom. Then step back in time on Ellis Island and take a self-guided tour of the museum. Learn the personal stories of the 12 million immigrants who passed through this station on their journey to America from 1892 to 1924. The remainder of the day is at leisure for you to partake in New York’s fabulous holiday shopping on your own at the world’s most famous department stores, including Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s and Saks Fifth Avenue, all dressed up in their holiday best. Or perhaps go ice skating at Rockefeller Center or Central Park, snap a picture in front of the colossal Christmas tree or gaze at the elaborate 5th Avenue holiday window displays. Tonight you’re in for the sweetest holiday treat, the incredible Christmas Spectacular show featuring the high-energy, high-kicking Rockettes. The show includes more than 140 performers, flawless choreography, precision moves, elaborate costumes and upbeat holiday music. It takes place at a New York City landmark, Radio City Music Hall, home of the annual Tony Awards show. Breakfast is included today; overnight in New York City.

Macy's Thanksgiving Day ParadeIt’s Thanksgiving Day! Experience a longstanding New York City holiday tradition, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Floats, bands, celebrities and the parade’s signature character balloons move along, one after another, for 2.5 miles from 77th Street and Central Park West to Macy’s Herald Square on 34th Street. More than 3.5 million people line the parade route, but you won’t have to brave the elements as we’ve secured inside seating in a prime location on 35th Street for our Parade Viewing Party. Fill up on a buffet breakfast and enjoy an open bar as the parade starts at 9 a.m. Stay inside to be eye-to-eye with the balloons as they pass by our third-floor venue, or head outside if you want to mingle with other spectators at street level. After the parade you’ll take your seat at a hit Broadway show (specific show to be chosen by tour operator). After the last ovation, gather with your fellow adventures at a local restaurant for a festive Farewell Dinner. Breakfast and dinner are included today; overnight in New York City.
